39-Year-Old Male Hamilton’s 13th Homicide Victim

Hamilton Police Service is investigating Hamilton’s 13th homicide of 2019 after a 39-year-old male was found on the road by his wife and a neighbour outside his residence near West 4th Avenue and Richwill Road.

Around 6:30 a.m. on December 6, 2019, Hamilton Police received a 911 call for a male lying on the road outside his residence. Police, Hamilton Fire and Hamilton Paramedics responded and the victim was transported to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased just after 7:00 a.m.

Evidence at the scene has led investigators to believe the victim died from a targeted shooting. An autopsy is being conducted to confirm the cause of death.

At this time, police are not releasing the name of the victim pending next of kin notification.

Police are appealing to the public for any video captured on December 6 from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. A police presence will remain in the area as the forensic unit processes the scene and the ACTION Unit canvasses the neighbourhood for video and witnesses.
