Male Arrested in Corktown Park Attempted Murder

Hamilton Police have arrested a male after an attempted murder in Corktown Park on July 3, 2020. 

Around 4.30 p.m. on July 3, 2020, Hamilton Police were called to a purse snatching in the area of John Street South and Hunter Street. The culprit was chased by some witnesses who were confronted by the suspect who produced a knife.

Police arrived moments later and the suspect was apprehended. The arresting officers recognized him as the male from an earlier media release and notified Major Crime Investigators.

The male was conveyed to Central Station, interviewed and charged with the Attempted Murder of the 22-year-old female at Corktown Park earlier that morning.

Calvin David Horvat (30-years-old) of No Fixed Address will appear in a Hamilton Court on Saturday morning to be formally charged with Attempted Murder.
