Robbery Suspect on Melvin Avenue

A male with visual and hearing impairment was assaulted and robbed while entering a building on Melvin Avenue in Hamilton. The suspect remains outstanding.

On May 31, 2020, shortly after 5:30 p.m., the victim was entering the main floor of an apartment building when a male suspect came up from behind, pushing the victim through the open door and robbing him of jewelry. He was last seen in the area of Sumach Street and Melvin Avenue.

Witnesses in the area identified seeing the suspect in possession of a small knife. The victim did not receive any physical injuries.

Suspect Description:

  • Male white
  • 30 to 40-years
  • 5 feet 10 inches, small build with a goatee and mustache
  • Wearing a black hooded sweater and light coloured pants
  • Possibly covering face with mask or bandanna
