Updated Info 2019 Flamborough Fatal

A fatal collision in the early morning hours of June 9, 2019, took the life of a 21-year-old Lynden man has been concluded. The single motor vehicle collision took place in the area of Woodhill Road and Concession 4 West in Flamborough.

The initial stages of the investigation found the man did not sustain a physical injury from the impact but died by electrocution after exiting his vehicle from down power hydro lines due to the collision. Reports recently received concluded speed, impairment as well as distracted driving were all contributing factors in this collision.

Hamilton Police would like to remind everyone to be extremely cautious near unknown downed wires. If you see a damaged or hanging powerlines, maintain a minimum distance of 10 meters and report it to the local utility services. If in a vehicle and an overhead power line drops on top of the vehicle, stay inside and call 9-1-1.
