Youth Tries to Evade Police When Found in Stolen Auto at Local High School

While actively patrolling a High School parking lot in the early morning hours of July 11, 2019, police located a youth inside a stolen auto. The youth is now facing criminal charges for possession of the stolen property.

On July 11, 2019, shortly after 3:30 a.m., police were conducting proactive patrol in the area of St. Jean de Brebeuf, (SJB) Catholic Secondary School on 200 Acadia Drive, Hamilton. When Police arrived they noticed a white 4-door sedan parked in the school’s rear parking lot. Police approached the suspicious vehicle and a male exited the car, running behind the school towards the power line field. During a search for the male, police witnessed the vehicle go mobile and quickly leave through the school driveway. A few minutes’ later the vehicle crashed into a school portable. The male was located with the assistance of K9 hiding in bushes behind the school.

Further investigation confirmed the vehicle had been stolen the night before from a Mountain residence and the youth was breaching an Undertaking.

The youth was arrested and charged held with his Bail opposed.
