Hamilton Police HEAT Unit executes search warrant in Ancaster
On Thursday January 21, 2016, just shortly after 3:00pm, members of the Hamilton Police HEAT Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Ancaster.
Members of the HEAT Unit received information about suspected illegal drug trafficking. Over the past few weeks the officers continued to investigate. As a result of their investigations, evidence led them to a residential home in the Ancaster area. On Thursday January 21, 2016, the HEAT Unit was given authorization from the courts in the form a search warrant to enter and search a Taylor Road home in Ancaster.
Just shortly after 3:00pm, the HEAT Unit, along with other police resources including the Hamilton Police Emergency Response and Canine Unit executed the search warrant.
Once inside, police arrested three (3) individuals and seized a large quantity of cash, cocaine, and other evidence consistent with trafficking and proceeds of crime from the sale of drugs as part of their ongoing investigation.
Over 350grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $36,000
Over 1000grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $22,000
Over $85,000 in cash that was hidden within various areas inside
Other evidence including mobile phones, documentation, scales and packaging all consistent with illegal drug trafficking
CHARGED: Michael TRKULJA – 27 year old man from Ancaster Ontario
CHARGED: Milijana TRKULJA – 60 year old woman from Ancaster Ontario
CHARGED: Lorne MOIR – 46 year old man from Cambridge Ontario
All three individuals are facing the following charges:
Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
Possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana
Proceeds of crime – over $5000
Police have opposed their bail and all three are now before the courts
