UPDATE #3: August 8th, 2016
On Saturday August 6th, 2016 just shortly after 12:00pm, Hamilton Police responded to 1 Trudy Court, Dundas regarding a missing person investigation.
It was reported that 11 year old Finnigan Danne was missing from his residence. He was last seen in the area of 1 Trudy Court in Dundas at approximately 10:15am on Saturday August 6th 2016. Finnigan suffers from a neuromuscular disorder and as a result walks with a noticeable limp and has limited mobility.
Hamilton Police conducted a ground search led by the Service’s Ground Search and Rescue Team, utilizing all resources including; the Mounted Unit, ATV’s and members of the Canine Unit. Several members of the community also participated in the search for Finnigan.
Later that day, Detectives issued a news release to request the public’s assistance in locating Finnigan.
Hamilton Police continued the search throughout the night of August 6th, 2016 and continued their efforts on August 7th, 2016.
As a result of the investigation, Finnigan’s limited mobility and the negative results from the initial search, consideration was given to the possibility that Finnigan had been abducted. An Amber Alert was issued on Sunday August 7th, 2016. Detective Sergeant Paul Hamilton was assigned as the case manager.
On Sunday August 7th, 2016, at approximately 3:30pm, Finnigan was located. He was located nearby submerged in water within a culvert located under the roadway.
Investigators believe that Finnigan passed away just shortly after he was reported missing. The location of where he was located was initially undetected by searchers due to the body being submerged in water.
A citizen volunteer who assisted with the search made observations that prompted officers to further search the culvert.
On Monday August 8, 2016, a death investigation was undertaken in conjunction with the Ontario Coroner's office and as a result the cause of death is drowning.
Detectives would like to thank the family and the public for their assistance.

Update #2: August 7th, 2016
We are deeply saddened to confirm that missing person Finnigan Danne has been located, deceased.
Hamilton Police conducted a ground search led by the Service’s Public Order Unit utilizing all resources, including the Mounted Unit, ATVs and Canine in this investigation.
As a result of its ongoing investigation, an Amber Alert was issued this afternoon. Shortly after, at approximately 3:30 pm, the child was located.
The coroner has attended the scene.
A post mortem has been scheduled and Hamilton Police continue to investigate. No other details can be released at this time.
Hamilton Police wish to thank members of the public and media for their support and assistance in the search for Finnigan.
Update: August 7th, 2016
Missing youth Finnigan DANNE, 11yrs, is still outstanding. Due to his mobility limitations, Police are requesting Dundas area residents to check their property and places where a child could possibly hide including any outbuildings, sheds or parked vehicles. Finnigan DANNE was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with a Special Olympics logo, grey shorts, no shoes (bare feet). He is described as 4’ 2”, 60lbs, thin build, dirty blond hair and blue eyes.

Build – Thin build
Hair – Dirty Blond
Eyes - Blue
Clothing – white t-shirt with a Special Olympics logo, grey shorts, no shoes (bare feet)
Last seen in the area of 1 Trudy Crt Dundas approximately 10:15am Saturday August 6th 2016. Finnigan suffers from a neuromuscular disorder and as a result walks with a noticeable limp. Police are concerned for his wellbeing and safety.
