Police appealing for information and release composite of suspect in ongoing sexual assault investigation

The Hamilton Police Service continues to seek the assistance of the public with identifying a suspect involved in a sexual offence.

On February 19th, 2017 at around 9:30pm, an unknown male suspect approached a female adult victim who was standing alone on Barton Street near Birch Avenue in Hamilton. (Previous News Release: https://goo.gl/sc2ize )

The victim and the suspect walked to a secluded location a few blocks away, where she was physically attacked and sexually assaulted by the unknown suspect.

The suspect is described as:

Male, dark complexion, late 20’s-early 30’s, 5’6"-5’7", heavy build, short black hair and black scruffy facial hair, wearing a grey/black hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap.

The Hamilton Police Service continues to investigate this incident and is asking anyone with information to contact Det Candace Culp of the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-540-5545. Investigators ask anyone with information, who wish to remain anonymous, to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
