Hamilton man charged
There was no evidence to suggest the woman involved was in any way taken against her will and there fore there was no evidence to lay any criminal charges as it relates to the initial reported information. Police opposed bail.

UPDATE - 11:36am - Police locate woman safe, suspect vehicle and arrest 1 male in custody
Police have located vehicle, arrested 1 suspect and have located the woman SAFE. Investigation still ongoing.
ARRESTED: 20 year old man from Hamilton.
CHARGED: Flight from Police, Drive Disqualified - ** Additional charges may follow**.
Until all charges are laid and brought before the courts the man's name is not authorized for release.

Hamilton Police investigating reports of a possible abduction
On Thursday April 20, 2017 just shortly before 7:30am the Hamilton Police received reports of a possible abduction taking place at the Stoney Creek Hotel located at 254 Highway # 8 in Stoney Creek. It was indicated that multiple male suspects believed to be in their 20’s were at the hotel causing a disturbance inside and shortly after assaulted a male employee.
The male suspects involved were last seen leaving in a dark coloured vehicle. Information was also reported that a female in her 20’s was taken against her will by the males in this vehicle. Police continued to gather information from witnesses throughout the morning in order to confirm the validity of the information reported.
It is not yet known if she was forced against her will or left on her own accord with these males. Police are in the process of collecting additional evidence to aid in the investigation and locate the female and suspects. At this time Detectives are asking anyone with information that could assist with this investigation to contact them by phone at 905-546-2907.
The male employee that was assaulted during this incident has been taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
There is no indication of any weapons being used during the incident. However, Police are asking the public not to approach the vehicle if they observe it.
Police last observed the vehicle travelling on the QEW highway eastbound towards Fifty Road in Stoney Creek when it failed to stop for Police and fled.
