Hamilton Police investigate Sexual Assault on Bruce Trail near Kenilworth Access
The Hamilton Police - Victims of Crime Unit is asking for the public's assistance and making the community aware of this offence.
On June 16th, 2017 at around 10.30am, an unknown male suspect approached an adult female who was walking alone on the Bruce Trail near the Kenilworth Access in the City of Hamilton. The suspect, armed with a knife, approached the woman and forced her into a quiet area adjacent to the Bruce Trail. The male attempted to sexually assault the woman. She was able escape from the male, who then ran from the scene. The woman reported the offence to the Hamilton Police and the investigation continues at this time.
In light of this incident, Hamilton Police have increased patrols in this area.
The suspect is described as:
Male, White, 5’7”- 5’8”- early 20’s wearing a navy blue hoodie and bandana over his face.
The public are asked to not approach suspicious persons in this area matching this description and are being advised to report it to Hamilton Police immediately at 911.
