Hamilton Police Make an Arrest in Sexual Assault on Bruce Trail near Kenilworth Access
On June 16th, 2017 at around 10.30am, an unknown male suspect approached an adult female who was walking alone on the Bruce Trail near the Kenilworth Access in the City of Hamilton. The suspect, armed with a knife, approached the woman and forced her into a quiet area adjacent to the Bruce Trail. The male attempted to sexually assault the woman. She was able to escape from the male, who then ran from the scene. The woman reported the offence to the Hamilton Police Service.
Members of the Hamilton Police Service and the Sexual Assault unit commenced an investigation and the accused was arrested on June 26, 2017 and currently remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
