Police Seek Assistance With Motor Vehicle Collision

On Saturday July 15th, 2017, shortly after 1:00 p.m., the Hamilton Police Service received numerous calls from concerned citizens reporting a road rage incident occurring between two vehicles. Callers reported vehicles driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Sanatorium Road and Garth Street then continuing down Becket Drive to Queen Street and Herkimer Street. Through investigation it was determined that a man’s truck and trailer containing landscaping equipment was stolen from the area of Sanatorium and Garth. The man observed the theft and proceeded to borrow a vehicle to pursue his truck and trailer. This resulted in a three car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Herkimer. The suspect for the theft, fled on foot.

The motor vehicle collision is currently being investigated. No injuries were incurred as a result of the collision.

The stolen vehicle investigation is ongoing.
