Hamilton Police Investigate Pellet Gun Shooting Incidents
Police investigate two incidents involving pellet guns and are now asking the public to assist with providing information to help identify the persons responsible.
On Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 shortly after 4:45pm police responded to the area of Main Street West and Hess Street South, Hamilton for report of a weapon related incident. Witnesses reported observing a vehicle in the area with three occupants, one of whom was holding a possible firearm. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
An hour later, police attended the intersection of Main Street East and Hughson Street North where a vehicle matching the one described earlier was observed, stopped for a red light. The driver pointed a firearm out of the front passenger window and fired a single shot at a person standing on the sidewalk. The victim was struck in the chest by a BB pellet, resulting in minor injuries. The suspect vehicle then sped off.
Police believe these two incidents are related. Both complainants describe the three suspects as white males between the ages of 20-30. The suspect vehicle is described as being a four door sedan, dark grey or black in colour.
