Hamilton Police Execute Search Warrants, Seize Firearm and Cocaine
In October 2017, members of the Hamilton Police Service Gangs and Weapons Enforcement Unit initiated an investigation into the unauthorized possession of a firearm. This investigation resulted in the execution of two Criminal Code search warrants on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017, in the area of Minto Avenue, Hamilton. The search warrants were related to one residence and an associated vehicle.
During the execution of the warrants, police located and seized a quantity of cocaine and a prohibited handgun. Police have arrested and charged one individual in relation to this investigation:
Durim HYSENI (25 years) of Hamilton
Drive Motor Vehicle while disqualified
Possession for the purpose of trafficking -Cocaine
Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
Possess firearm with altered serial number
Possession of firearm, knowing its possession is prohibited
Breach of Firearms Prohibition x 2
HYSENI has been brought before the court with his bail opposed.
