UPDATE - WANTED MAN ARRESTED

With the assistance of the media and the public, Hamilton Police have arrested wanted party Goran Kakamad. He has been brought before the court, with his bail opposed. The Hamilton Police Service continue to investigate an incident on Mohawk Road East between Upper Wellington and Upper Wentworth where several rounds from a firearm were discharged into the residence.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2017 the Hamilton Police Service arrested wanted party Goran Kakamad without incident, in the area of Main Street West and Cootes Drive.

Kakamad has been charged with the following offences:

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle (X2)

Fail to Comply Probation (X2)

Drive While Disqualified

Hamilton Police are no longer looking for the suspect vehicle belived to be used by Kakamad.

Kakamad remains outstanding and police are reminding citizens that he is considered armed and dangerous.

Do not approach Kakamad, contact 911 immediately.

 

MAN WANTED AFTER WEEKEND SHOOTING

Hamilton Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Goran Kakamad, 21. Kakamad is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are urged not to approach Kakamad but should call 911 immediately.

On Friday, October 6th, 2017, at approximately 9:00 p.m., several individuals were involved in an incident at a residence on Mohawk Road East between Upper Wellington and Upper Wentworth. The resident of the home fled and went for help. During this incident several rounds from a firearm were discharged into the residence.

A 2014 brown Infinity Q50 bearing Ontario License plates BZNW 939 was observed fleeing from the scene.

On Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at approximately 9:45 p.m., the vehicle was spotted by police. When Hamilton Police Service officers attempted to stop the car, the driver sped away and narrowly missed hitting other vehicles. The driver was identified as Kakamad.

A warrant has been issued for Kakamad’s arrest. He is wanted for Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop for Police, Drive Disqualified, and Breach of Probation. He is described as 171 cm (5’7 ½"), 69 kg (152 lbs.), medium build, with short straight black hair.
