On Thursday February 8, 2018, shortly after 2:35 PM, Hamilton Emergency Services responded to the intersection of King Street & James Street for a collision involving a pedestrian. A 17 year old male was crossing James Street when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound. The teen suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital.

The intersection was closed for approximately two hours while it was investigated by Police. The investigation found that the 17 year old male was crossing James Street without the right of way when he was struck.

While the male injuries were serious they have been deemed to be non-life threatening. The investigation has been completed and NO CHARGES will be laid.

The Divisional Safety Traffic Officers is reminding all pedestrians to remain alert when crossing the roadway.
