17-year-old G2 Driver Facing Stunt Driving Consequences

Another young driver faces punishment for driving 53 km/hr over the posted 90 km/hr speed on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

On February 6, 2018, shortly before 2:30 p.m., a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed on the Red Hill Valley Parkway. The investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling 143 km/hr in a posted 90km/hr zone.

Hamilton Police pulled the vehicle over safely and identified the driver as a 17 year old male with a G2 license. The registered owner (mother) was notified and is responsible for the vehicle tow and impoundment charges for the next 7 days. The young man’s licensed was seized at the scene and faces a 7 day driver’s license suspension as well as a court date.

Along with the above stated penalties, a conviction of Stunt Driving allows the courts to consider imposing the following:

  • Fine between $2,000 and $10,000
  • Driver’s License suspension up to two years
  • Seven Demerit points
