Hamilton Police Arrest Male after Stabbing

Hamilton Police arrested a 42-year-old male after a stabbing at a residence near Holton Avenue. The male was arrested without incident after he barricaded himself in the residence. 

On January 18, 2020, shortly after 4 p.m., members of the Hamilton Police Service responded to a 911 call in the area of Holton Ave. South and Main St. East for an assault that involved the use of a knife. A 27-year-old male victim was initially treated at the scene, but was then transported to hospital where he currently remains in stable condition. The suspect barricaded himself in the residence and was eventually arrested without incident at approximately 9:41 p.m. 

Given the nature of the incident, the Emergency Response Unit was deployed. Holton Ave South, south of Main St. East was cordoned off and crisis negotiators were called to assist. Members of the public were asked to stay out of the area during the investigation.
