Arrest Made in Stoney Creek Shooting Incident

Yesterday afternoon Hamilton Police investigated a shooting incident involving a commercial property in the Stoney Creek area. A 27-year-old Hamilton man has been arrested in relation to that incident. He will appear in court later today.

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, shortly before 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports of gunshots fired in front of a commercial property located in the area of Oriole Avenue and South Service Road. Officers immediately responded and secured the area. Evidence gathered at the scene confirmed a shooting had occurred. Through continued investigation, police identified a suspect.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Friday, police located and arrested a 27-year-old Hamilton man who is believed to have been involved in the incident. He was taken into police custody and his matter is scheduled to appear in court later today.

At the time of the shooting incident, a number of people were inside the business however, there were no reported injuries to police.

Hamilton Police closed roads in the immediate area for several hours to process the scene.
