Citizen Calls Police on Drug Dealer

Hamilton Police investigated a couple at a local laundromat for drug offences after a concerned citizen called in their suspicious actions. Through investigation, drugs, paraphernalia and cash were seized and a 25-year-old male was taken into police custody.

On Monday, July 2, 2019, shortly after 8:00 p.m., a concerned citizen observed a couple acting suspiciously in a laundromat located in the area of Barton Street East and Wentworth Street North. The citizen believed the couple was using illegal drugs on the property. When police arrived, they found the male sitting in the corner with drug paraphernalia in his possession. He attempted to hide the items as the female called out to him acknowledging the presence of police. The male was arrested without incident for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine. He was searched and found to be in possession of additional illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia as well as Canadian currency believed to have been obtained by criminal means. On the table between the couple were additional items of evidence. The female was not criminally charged.
