Hamilton Police BEAR Unit and Halton Police have combined efforts to charge a Hamilton man after a series of convenience store robberies.

On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, Gary Macfarlane, 30 years-of-age from Hamilton appeared in court in relation to a series of armed convenience store robberies. Combined efforts from the Hamilton Police BEAR Unit and Halton Regional Police identified similarities in the month long investigation which resulted in the identification of Macfarlane.

Macfarlane has been charged with the following offences:

• Robbery with a firearm x 5
• Disguise with intent x 5
• Possession weapon contrary to order x 5
• Breach of probation x 11
