Hamilton Police have arrested a 49-year-old male after reports of a stabbing at an east Mountain medical clinic.

On July 17 2019, shortly after noon, Hamilton Police responded to a report of a stabbing. Police learned that the male suspect had entered the clinic and attacked a doctor with a knife causing non-life threatening injuries to the doctor’s torso and hand. The suspect was ultimately subdued by a number of people inside the clinic. Another doctor at the clinic assisted with attending to the victim’s wounds, until Hamilton Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to hospital. The suspect was taken into custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.

A 49-year-old male from Hamilton faces the following charges:

• Assault with a weapon
