Drugs and Stolen Bike Seized From Drug Dealer

Hamilton Police are looking to identify the owner of a high-end bicycle after police arrested a drug dealer who had it in his possession. The bike is believed to be stolen and has been seized by police for safekeeping during the ongoing investigation.

While on proactive patrol on Saturday, February 2, 2019, shortly after 7:00 a.m., a Hamilton Police officer observed a vehicle suspiciously parked at the rear of the Red Rose Motel located at 553 Queenston Road. Police conducted surveillance on the vehicle and then approached. At that time a large bag of cannabis was observed in plain view, in the vehicle cabin. The cannabis was individually wrapped within the bag. The lone male occupant was arrested in violation of the Cannabis Act. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a variety of illicit drugs and other evidence to support drug trafficking.

Police conducted a further investigation into the connection between the male and the hotel. It resulted in police locating a high-end bicycle in a room related to the male. Police believe the bicycle was stolen and are now attempting to locate the owner.  The bicycle is described as a men's, white, 'Giant' road race bike. It has been seized by police for safekeeping during the ongoing investigation

The male has been released from police custody and will appear in court on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, to answer to the drug charges.
