Female Driver with Two Children Stopped for Stunt Driving

 

While conducting speed enforcement, a Hamilton Police Officer stops a motor vehicle for speeding 142km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. The driver has had her driver’s licence suspended for seven days and her vehicle seized for the same period of time.

On Wednesday May 16, 2018, shortly after midnight, Hamilton Police were conducting speed enforcement of Highway 6, between Safari Road and Concession Road 7, Hamilton. At that time, a black 4-door Nissan Sentra was observed driving at a high rate of speed, overtaking slower moving traffic.

The Nissan had reached a speed of 142 km/hr when police were able to catch up the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, north of Safari Road.

The driver, a 35 year old Cambridge woman, was accompanied with two small children when police approached the vehicle. She was issued three court summonses on the following charges:

Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt- Speeding by 50 or more KM/HR

Speeding - 142KM/HR in a 80KM/HR Zone

Owner - Operate Vehicle without Insurance

In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act her licence has been suspended for seven days and her vehicle has been impounded for the same period of time. Additional penalties can be administered through the court system.
