Hamilton and Timmins Police Team up to Seize Drugs and Guns

 

After identifying drug activity in the central area of Hamilton, Hamilton Police and Timmins Police Service executed search warrants that resulted in the seizure of guns and illicit drugs. Three adults from Hamilton have been charged with several criminal offences. Hamilton Police would like to thank their policing partners in Timmins for assisting with the execution of the warrant.

Hamilton Police Vice and Drugs Unit continue to proactively investigate drug activity throughout the city. As a result of a local investigation, police learned there was a connection to the Timmins area.

On Thursday, September 13, 2018, Hamilton Police Vice and Drugs Unit and Timmins Police simultaneously executed search warrants in their respective cities.

Hamilton Police have seized a sawed-off shotgun from a storage unit in the area of Upper Ottawa and Stonechurch Road.

  • Lee Newell, 30-year-old male from Hamilton
  • Marianne Lazar, 24-year-old female from Hamilton

JOINT CHARGES

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 
  • Possess Prohibited Firearm

As a result of the search warrant executed in Timmins, police seized a 25 calibre handgun and an undisclosed amount of Cocaine and Heroin.
