Hamilton Police Appeal for Witnesses to Street Robbery

Hamilton Police Service is appealing for witnesses to a street robbery that occurred early Saturday morning. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, shortly before 1:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a report of a street robbery in the area of Emerson Street and Ward Avenue. Two males were walking along Emerson when they were approached by two males on bicycles. One of the suspects demanded a cell phone and the password. The suspects obtained the property and were last seen travelling northbound on Broadway Street.

During the incident, one of the suspects was believed to be in possession of a possible handgun.

Both suspects are described as being males, Caucasian, between 5’11’ and 6 ‘, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing

Neither victim was physically injured as a result of the incident.

Police are requesting residents and business owners in the area with video surveillance cameras to check their systems for any suspicious activity.
