Hamilton Police are investigating the City’s fourth homicide of 2021.

On Sunday, March 14, 2021, at approximately 3:50 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to 1968 Main Street West in Hamilton for an assault. Police arrived on scene to find 73-year-old George Howson suffering from serious injuries. His 54-year-old stepson, Timothy Brown, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault.

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, George Howson passed away as a result of the injuries sustained from the assault. The Hamilton Police Major Crime Unit has taken carriage of this investigation and Timothy Brown’s charge will be upgraded to 2nd Degree Murder.
