Hamilton Police Arrest Brampton Man for Possession of Drugs and a Weapon

A 30-year-old Brampton man has been arrested by Hamilton Police after officers investigated a vehicle parked in a downtown alleyway. He will appear in court on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, to answer to several criminal charges.

On Monday, August 13, 2018, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police investigated an alleyway in the rear of 629 Barton Street East, Hamilton. While in the area, police noted the odour of burnt marijuana. A group of males were observed standing beside a black Honda Civic while one male was sitting in the vehicle.

Through investigation, police identified the occupant of the vehicle and subsequently seized from plain view, illicit drugs that included marijuana and psilocybin. The male occupant was also in possession of a prohibited weapon – switchblade.

A 30-year-old Brampton man has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana
  • Possession of Controlled Substance - Psilocybin

The accused will appear in court on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, to answer to the charges.
