Hamilton Police Arrest Youth in Toby Crescent Investigation

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged one of two youths responsible for breaking into a car on Toby Crescent in Hamilton. 

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, at approximately 4:15 a.m., two unknown male suspects attempted entry to a home on Toby Crescent in Hamilton. The suspects then entered an unlocked vehicle parked at the residence and stole property valued at under $5,000. The incident was reported to police on January 4, 2019, after a resident reviewed their residential surveillance footage. While reviewing the video, the homeowner observed what was believed to be a firearm in the hands of one of the suspects.

On Friday, January 4, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Mountain Division Criminal Investigative Branch, High Enforcement Action Team and Uniform Patrol Officers located and arrested one of the two youths responsible.

During the course of this investigation, the weapon used in this offence was located, determined to be an airsoft pistol and seized. A 16-year-old Hamilton male was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Charges: Theft Under $5,000, Breach Probation x 6

The Hamilton Police Service Mountain Division (30) Criminal Investigative Branch continues to investigate this matter and any possible links these suspects may have to other offences.
