Hamilton Police Arrested Male for TD and Scotiabank Robberies

Hamilton Police have arrested a 34-year-old Hamilton man and linked him to offences relating to theft and robbery.

On October 10, 2018, shortly before 9:30 p.m., police responded to a vehicle theft in the parking lot of 1187 Barton Street East, Hamilton. An unknown male was in possession of a firearm when he demanded a victim’s car. The suspect was last seen exiting the parking lot driving a 2006’ blue Ford Mustang. It is believed the male then headed directly to an Esso Gas Station on 2471 Barton Street East where gas was stolen.

On October 21, 2018, police investigated a Robbery at the TD Bank on 1311 Barton Street East, Hamilton. A male suspect entered the bank shortly before 3:00 p.m., demanding money from a teller. He fled with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. No one was injured in this incident.

On October 24, 2018, shortly after 12:30 p.m., police investigated a bank Robbery at Scotiabank on 1255 Barton Street East, Hamilton. The male used a similar method of demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. No one was injured in this incident.

Through investigative techniques, Hamilton Police BEAR and East End HEAT unit were able to identify the suspect. He was located on October 24, 2018, shortly before 10:00 p.m. in the area of 1283 Barton Street East, Hamilton. He was placed under arrest and brought into custody where his bail was opposed.
