Hamilton Police Investigate Collision Involving E-bike and an Automobile

Hamilton Police seeks the public's assistance as investigators analyze a collision that left a female in hospital with life threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, shortly after 12:00 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a 2009 Pontiac Vibe and an e-bike at the intersection of Evans Street at West Avenue North, Hamilton.

The operator of the e-bike, a 53-year-old Hamilton woman, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The 53-year-old Hamilton male who was operating the Vibe was uninjured and fully cooperated with police.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors in this collision. The investigation continues as the e-bike operator remains in hospital, stable with life threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.
