Hamilton Police Investigate Collision Involving Pedestrian and Commercial Truck

Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit would like to speak with witnesses to a collision involving an elderly female pedestrian and commercial truck that occurred at Barton Street East and Lottridge Street On Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The pedestrian was transported to hospital in critical condition. 

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, shortly before 11:30 a.m., an 82-year-old female was walking northbound across Barton Street on the east side of Lottridge Street, Hamilton. During this time she was struck by a commercial truck travelling south on Lottridge Street as it was in the process of making a left turn onto Barton Street.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious head injuries. Her condition remains the same at the time of this release.

Speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.

Next of Kin for the pedestrian have been notified however police are not releasing her name at this time.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation. Any witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact Detective Constable Vandercraats at 905-546-4755.
