Hamilton Police Investigate Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision

Last night a vehicle was located in a field in Ancaster. The lone occupant in the vehicle was deceased and Hamilton Police continue to investigate. At this time the death is believed to be non-suspicious.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, shortly after 8:30 p.m., a passerby noticed a vehicle in a field in the area of Book Road and Smith Road in Ancaster. Emergency Services responded and immediately secured the area. A lone male driver was found deceased in the vehicle. As a result of observations made by officers, the Major Crime Unit was called in to assist. Through further investigation, police believe the death to be non-suspicious.

The investigation has been turned over to the Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Mountain Division Criminal Investigation Branch.

The identity of the male is not being released at this time. A post mortem will be conducted later today.
