On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Hamilton Police received a 911 call for a suspicious vehicle located in the court area of Strathearne Place in Mount Hope.  A vehicle plate was obtained by witnesses and reported to police.  The vehicle was suspected to be a reported stolen auto and police officers were dispatched.

Police arrived to the court a short time after the call where they had an interaction with two suspects in the area of the stolen auto.

Hamilton Police cannot comment on the circumstance of the shooting; however, Hamilton Police can report that a 29-year-old female was arrested at the scene by responding officers.

Detectives have taken carriage of the investigation involving the stolen auto.  The 29-year-old female has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance ( CDSA 4 (1) x 2) and possession of stolen property under $5000.  This female has been released with a future court date.
