Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a male in connection with an overnight homicide in the area of Melvin Avenue and Parkdale Avenue North. George Opassinis, 55, has been charged with first degree murder.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on November 30, Hamilton Police responded to a Melvin Avenue apartment where they discovered the body of 53-year-old Michel Pilon.

Police continue to investigate and will remain in the area for the next few days. A post-mortem is expected to be completed tomorrow.
