Hamilton Police Locate a Drug Processing Plant

Hamilton Police locate a drug processing plant while executing a warrant on an illegal cannabis dispensary in Hamilton.

On Friday, August 3, 2018, members of the Vice and Drugs/Gangs and Guns Unit, executed a search warrant at the Cannabis Canada Dispensary located at 1557 Main Street East, Unit #2 in Hamilton.

Police located and arrested five people associated with the premise for CDSA offenses. During the search, police located a processing plant for drugs in the adjacent unit. A second search warrant was obtained and Hamilton Police seized various machines used for making marijuana shatter, rolling machines, vacuums and other items used in drug trafficking.

Police seized a large amount of processed marijuana, THC based products and oils from both units.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $1.5 million.

Charged:

  • 22-year-old female from City of Hamilton
  • 23-year-old female from City of Hamilton
  • 41-year-old female from City of Hamilton
  • 46-year-old male from City of Hamilton
  • 30-year-old male from City of Niagara Falls

Charges:

  • Possession for the purposes of Trafficking- marijuana (over 3kg) CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession for the purposes of Trafficking- Cannabis Resin CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession for the purposes of Trafficking- THC CDSA 5(2)
  • Proceeds of Crime over $5,000

All parties were released on a promise to appear for future court dates.
