Hamilton Police Officer Tests Positive for COVID-19

Hamilton Police Service received notification on March 30, 2020, that a sworn frontline police officer tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual has not had any contact with the community since March 12 and is believed to have contracted the disease within the community.

The member is doing well and is recovering at home with immediate family. The member continues to isolate at home and follow the advice of doctors and Public Health officials.

Hamilton Police Service has restricted access to all police facilities to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Essential service to our community is continuing and officers are responding to emergency and non-emergency calls on a priority basis. Where possible, some reports may be handled by an officer over the phone. In the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, call 905-546-4925.
