Hamilton Police Seeks Assistance with Two Arson Investigations

Hamilton Police continue to investigate two late-night arsons that occurred in September 2019. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

On Friday, September 20, 2019, shortly before 9:30 p.m., a lone male party attended the area of Barton Street East and Wentworth Street North. He intentionally lit a fire in the alleyway, causing damage to a fence and a business property.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, shortly before 4:30 a.m., a lone suspect attended the area of Main Street West and Broadway Avenue. At that time, the suspect intentionally lit a fire to a garbage dumpster behind a local business.

No one was injured during the incidents and the fires were extinguished prior to causing major damage.

The two incidents were captured on CCTV.

These investigations have been ongoing. All efforts to identify the responsible parties have been unsuccessful. Hamilton Police are now seeking the assistance of the public and are asking anyone with information that could assist with the solving these crimes, to contact Detective Gallant of the B.E.A.R./Arson Unit by calling 905-540-5085.
