Hamilton Resident Robbed While Using Bank Machine

Hamilton Police arrested a 29-year-old male who attempted to rob a woman using an ATM.

On August 6, 2018, shortly after 10:00 a.m., a 68-year-old woman from Hamilton was using an ATM bank machine inside the TD Bank at 100 King Street West in Hamilton.

The victim was in the midst of withdrawing funds when she was grabbed from behind by a male who held the victim while pressing buttons on the ATM keypad, attempting to withdraw funds from the victim’s bank account. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot with no money. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police reviewed surveillance footage and checked several locations with negative results.

At 12:20 p.m., police arrested the male in the area of Ferguson and Cannon Street.
