Individuals Arrested for Running Illegal Parking Lot Cannabis Location

On Thursday, May 31, 2019, Hamilton Police Service wrapped up an investigation into individuals selling illegal cannabis. The individuals were operating in the rear parking lot of a location on George Street where a former illegal cannabis storefront had voluntarily closed recently. The location had been the subject of numerous neighbourhood complaints.

As a result of the arrests, police seized cash, cannabis, rolled cannabis cigarettes, Hash, Shatter, Cannabis/THC Oils, and Cannabis/THC infused edibles.

The following individuals have been arrested and charged with five counts of Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, contrary to the Cannabis Act. One count each of Proceeds of crime under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.

  • Luke Rogers, 25-years-old of Hamilton
  • Yi Eh, 23-years-old of Hamilton

The accused have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, in Hamilton, at a later date.

Since October 2019, 24 illegal Cannabis Storefronts have been closed with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET). At this time, Hamilton Police are not aware of any illegal Cannabis storefronts in currently operating in Hamilton.
