Male Arrested in Relation to Stabbing Incident at Jackson Square

A 20-year-old Hamilton man will appear in court today to answer to charges related to a stabbing incident that occurred last Friday at Jackson Square.

On Friday, June 21, 2019, shortly after 4:00 p.m., police were dispatched to Jackson Square for an assault. The victim, a 20-year-old Stoney Creek male was located in front of the doors at King Street West and James Street North. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries believed to have been caused as a result of being stabbed. The area was secured by police but the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified and he and the victim are known to each other.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, shortly after 3; 00 p.m., police located the suspect at a residence in the area of Wilson Street and Wellington Street North. He was arrested without incident and taken into police custody.

A 20-year-old Hamilton man is scheduled to appear in court on today related to the assault.

The victim received medical treatment and was released from the hospital.
