Male Caught Setting Dumpster Fire

Hamilton Police Service is requesting members of the public to assist in identifying the male in the video starting a dumpster fire.

On Friday, June 19, 2020, shortly before 10:00 p.m., police responded to a dumpster fire at 1554 Main Street West in Hamilton. The fully engulfed bin was quickly extinguished before other damage occurred. A male in his 20’s was observed on camera starting the fire and walking away.

Shortly after the first fire, a second dumpster fire occurred within a few minutes near St. Mary’s High School at 200 Whitney Avenue. The suspect description fits the earlier video footage.

The Hamilton Police Service Arson Unit believes the unknown male is responsible for setting both fires.

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white, 20’s, heavy set
  • Blue medical mask, shorts, button-down shirt
  • Dark medium length hair
