Motorcycle Rider Suffers Serious Injuries

The Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate a two-vehicle collision that sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Monday, June 8, 2020, shortly after 5:00 a.m., a motor vehicle collision occurred on Upper James Street south of Alderlea Avenue involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle. At the time, a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle was travelling south on Upper James Street when a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV travelling north on Upper James Street proceeded to make a left turn into a commercial driveway. These events resulted in a collision.

The motorcycle rider, a 46-year-old male from Waterford was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was not injured.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and continues to investigate the collision. At this time detectives have ruled out alcohol, drugs and speed as contributing factors to the collision.
