Mule Restaurant Arson Investigation Concluded

Police have identified the male who set fire to outside patio furniture at a popular downtown restaurant.

On April 25, 2020, shortly before 11:00 p.m., the General Manager of The Mule Restaurant on King William Street in Hamilton was contacted about an outside patio fire.

The restaurant surveillance camera discloses a male pouring a flammable liquid onto a wood serving table and igniting a wall planter. He is then seen walking southbound on Hughson Street North towards King William Street.

A delivery driver from a nearby business was in the area when he noticed the fire and extinguished it with water. The fire caused minor damage to the property.

The arson investigation led police to the arrest of Shawn Murray on April 29, 2020. Murray was brought into custody and later released. He is expected to appear in court on June 30, 2020
