Police Arrest Drug Dealer

Hamilton Police officers on proactive patrol searched a property known for drug activity. Four individuals were located who advised they were waiting on their dealer. Shortly afterwards a male was observed acting suspiciously and he was detained. Police learned the male was trafficking drugs and he was arrested. He will appear in court today.

On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, shortly after 7:30 p.m., police were on proactive patrol when they attended a residence in the area of Wellington Street North and Evans Street. The residence is known for drug activity. With permission from the property management, police walked through the premise and located a group of four individuals who were in possession of drug paraphernalia. Through investigation, police learned the parties were waiting for their drug dealer. A short time later police observed a lone male walk suspiciously through the immediate area. He was detained during which time police formed the grounds to arrest the male for drug possession. The male was subsequently searched and police located on him several illicit drugs and evidence to support the offence of drug trafficking. The male was transported to police custody and was held for a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear at the John Sopinka Courthouse today to answer to several criminal charges.
