On Sunday October 23rd, 2022 shortly after 1:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to shooting in the area of George St and Caroline St.

Police attended and upon arrival, officers immediately secured the area and searched for anyone involved; however no suspects were located.

Through continued investigation, police can confirm several shots were fired inside a residence. Police believe this incident to be targeted. 

The victim, a 18-year-old male sustained non-life-threatening injuries resulting from a gunshot. 

The investigation has been taken over by Division One Criminal Investigation Branch.

Detectives are appealing to area residents to check their security cameras between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday October 23^rd for any suspicious activity and to contact police. Alternatively if you were driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review please also contact investigators.
