Police Investigate Male Stabbed in City’s East End

Last night a 34-year-old Hamilton man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries originally believed to have occurred during an assault. After investigating the incident, police have determined the injuries were self-inflicted.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Hamilton Police received information about an injured male who as in the area of King Street East and Mountain Avenue in Stoney Creek. The male was believed to have been assaulted at a nearby bar. Hamilton Police, Paramedics and Fire immediately responded to the area, located the male and he was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to receive additional treatment. The immediate area was secured as police processed the scene.

Through further investigation by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch, police have determined the injuries to the male were self-inflicted. The matter was isolated and all involved parties have been identified and addressed.
