Hamilton Police are investigating after reports of shots fired in Central Hamilton on Thursday night.

On November 10. 2022, just before 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Minto Avenue and Barton Street East, after receiving reports of shots fired.  Police attended and confirmed an area residence had been shot at.  Nobody within the residence was injured.

Police immediately searched the area and two people were taken into custody.  A firearm was recovered at the scene.

At this time, the shooting is believed to be a targeted incident and there is no further risk to public safety.  

Investigators are appealing to area residents to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity around the time of the shooting.
