Police Investigate West Mountain Shooting

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night in the area of Garth Street and Limeridge Road West. A 26-year-old Hamilton man involved in the incident later attended a local hospital on his own with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, September 28, 2020, shortly before 9:30 p.m., Hamilton Police attended the intersection of Garth Street and Limeridge Road West in response to several reports of gunshots. The area was secured and processed as evidence confirming a shooting incident was gathered.

A short time later, a male attended a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury believed to have been caused by a firearm. His vehicle, which contained evidence to confirm involvement in the shooting incident, was seized.

Detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Bureau continue to investigate and are asking residents in the area of Garth Street and Limeridge Road West, to check their video surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity and to contact police.

At this time, police believe the incident was targeted.
