Police Nab Break and Enter Suspect

Hamilton Police investigated a break and enter incident and arrested a male in the area. He was found to be in possession of break and enter tools, drugs and was in violation of court orders. He has been held for a bail hearing.

On Monday, February 11, 2019, shortly after 3:00 p.m., police were called to the area of Kensington Avenue North and Barton Street East, in relation to a break and enter in progress. Once on scene police located a male and detained him for investigation. With the information available at the time, police were unable to confirm his involvement in the incident and he was released. Police continued the investigation and obtained evidence to support a direct connection between the male and damage to a residence. He was subsequently located a few blocks away and was arrested without incident. A search of the male revealed he was in possession of burglary tools, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. An investigation into the male’s identity confirmed he falsely identified himself to police during the initial interaction. With this new information, police confirmed two outstanding warrants of arrest for the male relating to four charges of failing to comply with a recognizance and failing to attend court.

The male was transported to police custody and held for a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2019, to answer to several charges.
